As people who are passionate about plants, we know there are many more than 5 ways to use artificial plants to decorate your home, however today we are listing five of our favourites!Firstly, let’s revisit why we love plants and why they make a great addition to any home decor.
Top of the list is their ability to bring life, light and colour into a home with their organic beauty. Each plant or flower variety has a unique shape, colour and texture to it that appeals to our senses as humans that appreciate the natural form of a living thing.
When choosing a plant or selection of flowers for a home, office or workplace, we are often made to choose varieties that will survive and thrive in our given climate. For indoor plants and flowers that could mean extreme heat near windows, fireplaces or heating outlets or the opposite in cooler or moist environments within the home. Our love of plants and flowers comes from their unique ability to live, grow and survive, but when it comes down to it, our passion for plants and flowers would flourish if we could enjoy any beautiful plant variety no matter the climate we are living in….
And that is why we love artificial plants and flowers because we can admire the beautiful textures, colours and organic shapes, without the fuss of worrying about climate, watering and maintenance!
Maintenance is a thing of the past so decorating your home in these five ways can really beautify a home without extensive expenses and with minimal effort.
Enhance unsightly views with an artificial green wall. Create an artificial green wall outside a window that has a less-than-desirable view to instantly enhance your view from inside. Those windows close to a fence or unsightly garden shed are instantly beautified when the unsightly shed or fence has an artificial trellis or hedge tile green wall added to it. Easily installed in just a few hours or less you will enjoy the view for years to come.
Enhancing bathroom spaces with zero maintenance artificial plants. Add some beauty to your bathroom spaces by adding little pops of green with artificial succulents, artificial orchids or tropical plant varieties in decorative pots that coordinate with your bathroom decor. Pop smaller plant varieties on window ledges or smaller shelves while keeping large to medium pots for the floor or bathroom vanity if space allows. Bathrooms often lack the lighting and climate for real plants to thrive with little maintenance, so artificial plants are a great option for this area of the home.
Decorating a bedroom with artificial florals and plants. With allergies and mess a concern for many when looking to add plant life to a bedroom artificial plant varieties eliminate the worry entirely. A bedroom is a great place to have some fun with artificial plants and even smaller trees. Add them in decorative pots in the corner of a room to provide an artificial plant canopy. Using three different sizes group them together to make a beautiful combination that can be switched around for a different look whenever you feel creative. No room for a larger plant? Stick to the group of three rule with smaller varieties placed on larger surfaces like a dresser and as always a vase of artificial floral stems or a beautiful potted artificial plant on a bedside table is an instant pick me up for any room.
Adding artificial greenery to larger spaces. Living areas are a great place to add life with artificial greenery and the options are endless! Use the three plant rule mentioned for bedrooms in the living or lounge area as well, if space permits choose at least one larger artificial tree for an open corner to really add a pop of green to the room. Remember to choose any variety you like because with artificial climate doesn’t matter.
Using decorative vases and pots to hold a combination of your favourite arranged artificial flowers on table tops or shelving gives you the perfect opportunity to re-arrange and re-style whenever the mood strikes. A few well-chosen artificial floral stems can be rearranged so many times for a fresh new look, without the cost of replacing them every few months.
Bring the outside in by updating outdoor areas with artificial plants. Most homes have a view to the backyard or outside patio, taking advantage of that view is a great way to bring some colour into the home whether you are enjoying the view from inside or enjoying your outdoor area a splash of green is an easy update and can be enjoyed year-round. A bland wall can be refreshed within hours with a green wall made from hedge tiles or an artificial trellis, paired with some smaller artificial plants placed on outdoor tables or in groups of potted varieties around the outdoor area you instantly enhance the area for enjoyment from inside or out, and no watering required!
Our love of plants can be held back by the fear of the cost of replacing the varieties of real plants if they do not thrive, the thought of endless maintenance can also be a bit of a turn-off for the time-poor. At HGDCO our passion is inspired by our love of plants, and creating life-like varieties everyone can enjoy no matter where they want to use them to decorate their home. With minimal maintenance required - just wipe gently every now and then with a damp cloth to clean and your artificial plants and flowers will give you years of enjoyment - they suit our need for green inside and out!
